I purchase this because I had read some other reviews for this book, and I am in the process of downsizing and spending more time in my RV. Though there may be some good information about the mechanics of RV living, I was unfortunately unable to get very far into this book because of the tone the author takes--sarcasm that borders on self-righteousness. I probably could have worked my way through that, however, but when she used the pejorative term "lame" twice in the first two chapters, I had to stop reading. I realize that many people don't realize how offensive this slang term is for people with disability, but in the case of a published book, which I assume was edited by someone other than the author, this should have been picked up and corrected. I hope the author will take out this offensive word in her next edition. Wow!! Where do I even begin?! I stumbled upon the author by chance 8 years ago, and began (and continue) to be inspired by her words on her blog and Facebook page. Over these years, her perspective on life has given me endless inspiration, but even more so, the courage to let go of “norms” and chase my dream life. Her words inspired the way I schooled my children (which is extremely effective, by the way), and how I chased freedom to live a life I could only dream of before. I’ve been waiting for her to write a book for years, and the wait is finally over!!I love this book so much! I hardly feel like anything I write in a review can do it justice. You have to read it to understand what I mean. You see, I don’t enjoy reading books. I prefer listening to them because there’s always tinkering or playing I’d rather do than sit and read. But when I got my hands on this book, it was difficult to put down. Margie stirs things up in you in a way you just can’t ignore. Her experiences ignite the fire inside that the burdens of life have doused. Her perspective inspires you to dare to be different, AND be perfectly content with your different-ness. Her stories make you laugh, and cause you to reflect on why you’ve always done things the way you have. Her words will free you from the chains of normalcy that have held you down for so long. I laughed. I cried. I pondered. I dreamed.It took me 4 years of wishing I could meet Margie in person before that dream was realized, and I can tell you that if you ever get the honor of meeting Margie, you will never be the same. And yes, she’s just as funny, strong, quirky, fierce, and friendly in real life as she seems when she writes. And her family? Well, they’re unique and amazing...a true testament to her love and devotion to unleashing their dreams and life.If you do only one thing to take that first step toward a bigger, happier, life of freedom and joy, let it be reading this book so you can undo the limiting structure that has bound you all this time.
